Established in 2011, The Sandra Walsh Kelley Foundation is dedicated to, "Helping others live life to the fullest." We are a an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our Tax ID # is: 46-1124846
The Sandra Walsh Kelley Foundation was started by Sandra's two daughters shortly after her passing in 2010. Sandra was a passionate, free spirit who was known for her love of politics, history, flying , dogs and skiing. Sandra loved talking to people about all of her passions (whether they agreed with her or not) in addition to anything under the sun. Sandra was a generous, giving person always willing to lend a hand to others. Sandra made friends easily but what many did not know is that Sandra suffered from depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It is for this reason that the Sandra Walsh Kelley Foundation was started – to honor an amazing woman who fought silently and courageously to be able to live her life to the fullest.
Now, a foundation in her name, allows her legacy to continue to give to others in their time of need. We want to help eradicate the stigma for those who suffer from depression and PTSD. In addition to allocating its funds for the treatment and research of mental illness, cancer treatments and cures, the SWK Foundation helps to fight child hunger. The Foundation has branched out to support additional causes such as the fight against Alzheimer's disease and will often lend support to people who suffer tragedy in their lives. The SWK Foundation exists as Sandra lived her life, using the efforts to help others live life to the fullest.
The Sandra Walsh Kelley foundation also provides an annual scholarship to a graduating senior from Hopkins Academy in Hadley, Massachusetts.
